What Is Driving Licence and why it's necessary

A Driving Licence is an official document certifying that the holder is suitably qualified to drive a motor vehicle or vehicles. Under the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 (External website that opens in a new window) in India, no person can drive a motor vehicle in any public place unless he holds a valid Driving Licence issued to him, authorising him to drive a vehicle of that particular category.

How to obtain a Learners Licence

For obtaining a Learner's Licence, you will need to apply in the prescribed format to the Local Transport Office in your region, along with your passport-sized photographs, proof of your age and residence, declaration of medical fitness and the required fee. After verification of your documents, you will have to go through the Learner's Test.

How to obtain a permanent licence


For obtaining a Permanent Licence, you must have a valid Learner's Licence, and must apply after 30 days and within 180 days of issue of the Learner's Licence. you have to pass a test, for which you must bring a vehicle with you, On passing the test, you will be issued a Permanent Driving Licence.

There is a minimal fee associated with PAN card, This fee differs for NRI's and person living in India. You have to pay this fee at the time of sending the acknowledgement to NSDL (National Securities Depository Limited), find below the fee for Indian residents and NRI's.

PAN Card Fee for Indian Residents
This fee is applicable if communication Address is within India
Rs. 94.00 ( Rs. 85.00 + 10.3% service tax)

PAN Card Fee for NRI's
This fee is applicable if communication Address is outside India
Rs. 944.00 (Application fee Rs. 85.00 + Dispatch Charges Rs. 771.00) + 10.3% service tax.

It's very easy to apply for a Pan Card and get the Pan Card delivered to your door step, all you need to do is to go to NSDL Website and follow the following steps.

1) Fill out the Application form and submit it.

2) After submitting the Application form you will get an acknowledgement number, print this document.

3) Put your photograph and sign the acknowledgement form where required.

4) Pay the required fee of Rs.94/- by credit or debit card.

What Is Pan Card: Permanent Account Number (PAN) is a ten-digit alphanumeric number, issued in the form of a laminated card, by the Income Tax Department under the auspices of the Central Board for Direct Taxes (CBDT) and is almost equivalent to a national identification number. It also serves as an important ID proof.The PAN is unique, national, and permanent. It is unaffected by a change of address, even between states.

What is the use of Pan card: It is mandatory to quote PAN on return of income, all correspondence with any income tax authority. From 1 January 2005 it will be mandatory to quote PAN on challans for any payments due to Income Tax Department.It's also mandatory for other financial transactions such as opening a bank account, receiving taxable salary , sale or purchase of assets above specified limits .

Demat Account Fee Charges

Charges Involved in Demat Account

The fee to open a Demat Account is varies DP to DP. There are four major charges usually levied on a demat account: Account opening fee, annual maintenance fee, custodian fee and transaction fee.

Demat Account Opening Fee: This fee is totally depends on DP to DP, Some DP's charge this fee but some usually other don't charge any fee to open a Demat Account.

Annual Maintenance Fee: folio maintenance charges or Annual Maintenance Fee is generally levied in advance.

Custodian Fee: The Custodian Fee is charged monthly and depends upon the number of securities (ISIN) held in the account. It usually range between Rs. 0.5 to Rs.1 per ISIN per month.

Transaction Fee: Brokerage Fee or Transaction fee is charge monthly for debiting and crediting shares to and from Demat Account. Some DP charge a flat transaction fee and some other charges this fee on the basis of the value. These charges also differ based on the transaction type (Buy/Sell). Some DP charges only for debiting the account while others charges transaction fee for both. DP's also charges for Rematerialization (Converting electronic holding to physical holdings)and vise-versa. In addition to above mentioned fee service tax is also applicable on opening a Demat Account.

Within 15 days of submitting the form and associated documents the DP will open the account in the system and give an account number, which is also called BO ID (Beneficiary Owner Identification number). You can then start applying for shares or transfer in your shares from other DP's or purchase shares from a broker or even apply for mutual funds, bonds etc.

Like bank account, Investor has to submit few document at the time of opening the Demat Account. Along with the application form that can be collected from any DP, investor has to submit the copies of any one of the approved documents to serve as proof of identity (POI) and proof of address (POA) as specified by SEBI. PAN Card is mandatory that has to submit by the investor along with the 2 photos and other documents. Usually Investors submit the following documents at the time of opening a Demat Account.
